When Shanikua Brown moved in with her Christian mother and step father at the age of fifteen, she was excited to finally move into the home of the mother that she longed for her entire childhood but little did Shanikua know that her world would change and shatter in the palm of her hands. As she suffered endless abuse, stripping away of her identity, trying to grow her relationship with God, and growing up in a dysfunctional household she struggled to understand why God put her in a home that she would always try to escape from.
